Here you see "laterals" of Leaky Pipe laid at between 600mm to 1000mm (2-3ft) apart, wriggled among the plants. The water supply is fed to all the Leakies by way of a polytube manifold. Depending on the scale of the area, this polytube could be made form garden hose(16mm) or 20mm black polytube.
It is good practice with all systems using in excess of 100metres of Leaky Pipe, to include a filter/pressure regulator unit in the water supply. This will help catch lime and other particulate that would otherwise be passed into the Leaky Pipes and also prevent the system from being over-pressurised.
This area is in its second seasons growth, with regular watering at about 30minutes per day.
