| See the layout of Leaky Pipe and polytube to water mature, transplanted trees! | |||||||||||||
|
Here you see Leaky Pipe "rings" surrounding the trees. Each tree is connected to eachother by way of a polythene pipe so to water together. The Leaky Pipe will then lay flat on the ground in three concentric rings. The inner ring will maintain moisture within the rootball during the first season. After establishment, this ring will be disconnected. The middle ring will be laid over the margin between the rootball and the native soil. This pipe will water this zone to eliminate cracking between the two media. The outer ring will water the native soil and will encourage the development of tree roots out of the rootball, into the soil to provide stability. Regular watering is critical from the moment of planting throughout the first season. After this period, the outer rings should be used during the following two years to ensure good extension growth of the trees. |
N.B.Each Leaky Pipe here is of a limited length so very high leak rate pipes such as LP12UH can be used if a small number of trees are to be watered together. Alternatively, the lower leak rate pipes can be used to water more trees at once & extending the watering time to achieve the same water application. The Leaky Pipe, barbed fittings and polytube can be lifted at the end of the period and moved-on to other applications.. |
